The Martindale Abrasion and Pilling Tester can test the abrasion resistance and pilling performance of various structural fabrics. The sample is subjected to low-pressure continuous reversing friction with a certain friction material, and its wear and pilling degree can be compared with the standard parameters for evaluation. The instrument adopts a movable sample fastening component, which can take out a friction sample at any time without affecting other samples. It is a fastening method approved by BSEN ISO12947-1:1999.
Application:
This machine is suitable for detecting woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, piled fabrics with a pile height of less than 2mm, non-woven fabrics, and coated fabrics (that is, woven fabrics and knitted fabrics are used as the base fabric, and the coating part forms a continuous pattern on the surface of the fabric. of film), abrasion resistance of leather, etc. (sample breakage, mass loss, appearance change), pilling performance.
Working principle:
Under the specified pressure, the circular sample is rubbed with the same fabric or wool fabric abrasive fabric in the trajectory of Lissajous figure for a certain number of times, and then the abrasion resistance and pilling performance of the sample are checked.

Wear test
The circular fabric sample is rubbed against the standard rubbing cloth for friction test. The wear resistance depends on the number of rubbing times or the weight consumption of the sample when the sample is decomposed. The swing trajectory on the rubbing cloth of the test sample is called the Lissajous figure.
pilling test
The pilling test method used on the Martin-Dell testing machine was developed in conjunction with the EMPA. The test is suitable for knitted and woven fabrics (woven from staple fiber sand). The degree of pilling was evaluated using the criteria described in language in conjunction with the EMPA picture criteria.
Operation and Amplitude
For some jobs, a regular interactive action test based on Lissajous graphs is required. When changing from the abrasion test to the pilling test, the length of the vibration amplitude needs to be changed. Changing the mode of operation and the amplitude of the vibration is as simple as moving the position of the drive assembly without the need for additional tools and spare parts.
