[TechWeb] On November 5th, when JD.com determined its long-term goal for the next ten years of a digitally-intelligent social supply chain, it clearly stated that by 2030, JD.com's carbon emissions will be reduced by 50% compared with 2019. At the same time, by 2030, JD.com will also cooperate with partners to build the world's largest rooftop photovoltaic power generation capacity ecosystem.

It is reported that next year, JD.com's "Asia No. 1" intelligent industrial park in Suqian, Jiangsu and Xi'an, Shaanxi will provide continuous green energy for the processing of more than 500,000 orders per day through the construction of photovoltaic power generation and energy storage facilities. Approved carbon neutral demonstration park.

At present, JD.com has completed the installation of the first batch of photovoltaic power generation systems in 12 smart industrial parks. The photovoltaic generator set of the "Asia No. 1" Intelligent Industrial Park in Jiading, Shanghai, which has been put into operation, is composed of 8,600 single crystal modules and generates 3.11 million kWh of electricity a year. These green power can be used for office lighting in the park during the day and can be used at night. Through the pilot project of "car + carport + charging pile + photovoltaic", electric new energy vehicles are charged.

According to calculations, it is estimated that by the end of 2021, Jingdong's distributed photovoltaic power generation capacity can be built to 100 megawatts, and the annual power generation capacity can be used for 50,000 ordinary households for one year. It is estimated that it will take 3 years to build a photovoltaic power generation capacity of 1,000 megawatts, which can provide green energy for 85% of the Jingdong Smart Industrial Park.

In addition to photovoltaic power generation on the roof, each smart logistics park also plans to reduce energy consumption through measures such as wind-solar multi-energy complementation, integration of power generation and charging, electric energy storage, water cooling, and rainwater collection. In a highly intelligent logistics warehouse, due to the reduction of manual operations, many intelligent devices can realize "black light operation", which greatly reduces the consumption of electric energy. According to the test, an average of 1 minute, the smart device can save 2283 kWh of electricity through the "black light operation", which is equivalent to the electricity consumption of an ordinary family for one and a half years; the collection volume of the rainwater collection system in 1 hour can irrigate a standard football field. of green space.

At the same time, there are more than 150 million types of "green consumption" commodities in JD.com's commodity library. Through intelligent recommendation to guide green consumption, JD.com has only sold first-class energy-efficient air conditioners, refrigerators, and TVs in the past year. The three categories of home appliances can reduce nearly 2 million tons of carbon emissions every year.

After the consumer places an order, the data backend calculates the inventory and delivery route closest to the consumer. JD Cloud's new-generation green data center realizes green and efficient computing through self-developed technologies such as technical architecture and product innovation, green energy power generation, high-performance servers, leading liquid cooling and heat recovery technology, AI intelligent temperature control, and robot inspection. . Through the innovation of IT and infrastructure architecture, the data center that has been invested in the 2021 Jingdong 11.11 service on a large scale, with the help of liquid cooling technology, can achieve a PUE of less than 1.1 throughout the year, reduce infrastructure energy consumption by 30%, and reduce total carbon emissions by 10%.

While promoting the "slim down" of packaging, JD.com is also reducing the use of paper packaging as much as possible. In the past 4 years, JD.com has successively put into use "Qingliu Box" in more than 30 cities across the country. This kind of circular express box is made of reusable materials and does not need to be sealed with tape. It can be recycled and regenerated after damage. Recycle more than 50 times. For fresh commodities with thermal insulation requirements, a reversible recyclable thermal insulation turnover box is used to replace the disposable foam box. An ordinary thermal insulation turnover box can be recycled 130 times during the service life of one and a half years.

In addition, JD Logistics spent more than 4 years putting nearly 12,000 new energy vehicles in 7 regions and more than 50 cities across the country, and built and introduced more than 1,600 charging terminals across the country, which can reduce about 120,000 tons per year. of carbon dioxide emissions.
